Build a flowchart that controls the node and its actions.
How to use Flowtice
Build a flowchart, run the simulation, and watch the node and cells change.
Two areas, one workspace
The Flowtice workspace is divided into the Flowchart and the Lattice.
A two-dimensional space where the node moves and cell values change.
Combine three basic items
The main Flow Items are Process, Branch, and Loop.
Process
Change values or move the node.
Branch
Choose a different Flow based on a condition.
Loop
Repeat a Flow while a condition is true.
Build an expression.
Process, Branch, and Loop combine a Target, Operator, and Value to define actions and conditions for the node and cells.
Combine a Target, Operator, and Value to create an expression.
Target
Choose what you want to change or evaluate.
Operator
Choose how to change a value or how two values should be compared.
Value
Choose the value used for a calculation or comparison. You can use a number, position, node value, or cell value.
Expression examples
X Position += 1Increase the X position by 1 to move the node one cell to the right.
Node Value += Cell ValueAdd the value of the current cell to the node value.
Cell Value == 0Check whether the value of the current cell is equal to 0.
Build your first Flowchart
Start with a simple Flowchart that moves the node four cells to the right.
Add a Loop
Set the condition to “X Position < 4”.
Add a Process
Set the action to “X Position += 1”.
Run it
Press Run to start the simulation.
Watch what happens
While the simulation runs, you can see the current Flow Item and the changes on the Lattice.
Reuse Your Work
Use your saved work in other flowcharts.
A flowchart named "Move Right" that moves the node four cells to the right.
A flowchart that uses "Move Right" as a Function.
Save Your Work
Save the flowchart as "Move Right".
Choose Saved Work
Add a Function to a new flowchart and select "Move Right".
Run It Together
When you run the flowchart, the steps in "Move Right" will run as part of it.
